2004 |
Winter
and springtime were relatively dry and this led to a lack of
water. The vine blossomed well and rapidly. The somewhat wet
summer slowed down the ripening process, but September
offered very favourable conditions (sun, dry weather and
wind) for the grapes to ripen. In order to harvest at just
the right point of ripeness patience was needed. In this
vintage, Bordeaux returns to classicism.
Manual
harvests were done on 8th and 9th October for the Merlot and
19th and 20th October for the Cabernet Franc (mild weather,
no rain).
The
wine was run off and put into barrels on December 10th 2004.
It is currently being matured.
At
this stage, the wine is rich in color, has ripe, plump
tannins, is well-balanced on the palate and also has
freshness. To sum up, it is a wine of fruity expression with
good balance. After the rather exotic character of the 2003
vintage. Bordeaux returns to a classic style.

2003 |
An
historic year in terms of high temperatures which at times
exceeded 40°c and there were quite a considerable number of
days when temperatures were above 35°c. A warm, dry spring
and a scorching hot summer. These weather conditions
generated wines which are typical of sun-filled years;
stylish, elegant, complex wines. They are tannic but not
aggressive and offer good ageing potential.
Accompanied
by extraordinary weather conditions, manual harvests were
done on 22nd September for the Merlot and on 1st & 2nd
October for the Cabernet Franc.
The
wine is matured for 20 months in new oak barrels.
With
an almost black color, it has an expressive and rich nose
with aromas of very ripe fruits and smoky wood. It's
powerful, full, dense, spicy and long on the palate. It has
marvellous potential and wonderful substance. It is a
charming and voluptuous wine.

2002 |
A
dry year, but evenly spaced, light rainfall ensured a
regularity of water supply. A rather cool summer slowed down
the ripening process.
Manual
harvests were done on 6th, 7th & 8th October, with
optimal weather conditions (sunshine 28°c).
Malo-lactic
fermentation in barrels and maturation in new oak barrels
for 17 months.
This
2002 is now marvellous: an intense nose of red fruits and
spices. It's round on the palate with a good concentration
of dense, elegants tannins. It gives a lovely finish with
freshness.
